De intro en het eerste deel waren fantastisch: Auch war es, bis auf ein paar Seiten im Mittelteil, immer sehr spannend. View all 6 comments. Es kommt nicht allzu oft vor, dass ich mich in die Thriller-Welt verirre. There was an abundance of tension and suspense with every turn of the page. Cut retributiion ; there is a serial rapist on the loose who doesn’t just injure his victims, he carves out their hearts and leaves them for dead in conspicuous places.
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to work out the links between parts one and two of the book! Customers who bought this item also bought. Linda Fairstein whose own novel, The Killsgoes head to head with this one in January broke the ground and set the standard for this subgenre, and Hoffman fits right in and ups the ante with an original premise and more-graphic-than-usual violence.

I clicked immediately with her. It’s thrilling to the end with a lot of twists and new revelations etc. Retribution, by Jilliane Hoffman. Hoffman began her professional career as an Assistant State Attorney prosecuting felonies in Florida from to with special assignments to the Domestic Violence and the Legal Extradition Units. Townsend, assistant chief of the Miami Dade State Attorney’s office.
The book tells the story of a lead prosecutor in a grisly murder case in which the suspect just happens to be the man who raped her 12 years earlier. Eher ein klassischer Hoffmaj mit ein paar Thrillerelementen I will stop reading a book with lengthy, retribufion descriptions. In Retribution, the lines of justice are blurred; these characters don’t necessarily follow the rules of the court and anyone expecting a black and white legal thriller will be disappointed.
There’s an element of vigilantism here, but it works well within the storyline. Does the end justify the means? The writing was terrible, it was a bad book.
